Winter transfers #3, #4, #5: Robinson Zapata, Yekta Kurtulus and Bogdan Stancu

We have officially signed three players today, first one of them: Robinson Zapata, 32-year old Colombian goalkeeper as a free agent (formerly of Steaua Bucharest). He hasn’t played a game of football since May, 2010. Not very good acquisition as far as I’m concerned. He was signed on a 1.5-year contract.

The second transfer is highly-rated, 25-year old Yekta Kurtulus from Kasimpasa SK who can play anywhere in the midfield. His contract is going to last 4.5 years. It is said that the transfer fee is €3.75m (although there might have been some player swap involved).

The last signing is a talented, 23-year old Steaua Bucharest striker, Bogdan Stancu. The transfer fee is said to be €5.6m (a record for Romanian Liga I player, previously held by Stefan Radu who went to Lazio for €5.4m) + 30% of future transfer fee to Steaua. Stancu is a striker who possesses very powerful shot, and is quite a prolific goalscorer, having scored 13 goals in 18 games in the domestic league this season. He has also played the most minutes out of all Steaua players.

  i don’t see why they brought zapata, i think hagi needs to give ufuk ceylan a full season to give him a chance to show his full potential

  As a Romanian, I have seen Zapata play, and i can honestly say he is 10 times better than ufuk ceylan or any other keeper from galata, hagi was the coach at steaua when zapata was there and he knows him very well, it is a great acuasition for galata, especialy since he was free. Bogdan Stancu is much better as a second striker than a center forward, so he can play right behind baros, with misimovic beside him.

  Thanks for the info Vlad, gotta admit im not very excited about Zapata either. I still want to see Ufuk develop but maybe having Zapata as competition it’ll force him to work and earn the spot.

  Zapata is a good GK. When in form, he can win matches on his own. Besides that, he’s also a good professional and he won’t ever cause any trouble for the club. You should be happy since you got him for free.

  As for Bogdan Stancu… He’s a quality player. Just let him adapt and don’t put too much pressure on him and he’ll turn into your best striker. He’s also fairly young and I think he can get a lot better than he currently is.

  Stancu’s a talented striker bro. They guy only had a few days to practice and still looked phenomenal out there. Culio and Yekta also look really good and Kazim hasn’t been half bad, dont worry Unal we’ll be just fine ;]

  He plays well, but not so great defensively. Hagi doesn’t want to waste time developing players on load when we could use that spot to get our own players accustomed to playing. I see Hagi’s point, but im a fan of Insua as well. Insua>>>Hakan Balta.

  Zapata excells at Shot Stopping and One-on-Ones.
  I have seen him do some miricles between the posts, but I have also seen a couple of big mistakes. I guess there isn’t many GKs who can say they haven’t done big mistakes resulting in goal.
  He was replaced at Steaua because we bought a young talented keeper and we couldnt afford to keep Zapata in the goal while the young talent stays on the bench.
  As for Bogdan Stancu, I don’t think anyone doubts this guy’s talent and future. I personally hope Galata takes good care of him since the Romanian national team needs a solid replacement for Mutu in the future.
  All in all these 2 romanian players are a great quality-price aquisition.

  If only He used the new trasfers from the 1st half. why did we expend alot of money on them? now gala is just going down and down???? what must we do more?……….Baros were there and yes they did not put him on? Guess After 10 years I need a new team…

  i think this season we can say bye bye europe,in the superlig we are just a joke,our reputation is very low,and also our respect,now every team that will play with us will say “hell yeah we can beat galatasaray”,thank you hagi for bringing us shit players from romania,that has no value.

  it is his fault for bringing shit players like culio,stancu,besiktas has players like almeida,simao,fernandes etc.,bursaspor bought a good striker on loan but good like jozy altidore,and has bought also keny miller.from all the list of players(formica,almunia,sergio romero,lucas bilgia etc)he bought the worst players ever,and for that reason i am blaming hagi,because the board said to him “you want that player?we will bring him for you,but after we will make the transfers ,we want results”>>>>>in conclusion hagi spend money on shit,and has no results.now how come it is not his fault for this?!!!

  Well you had lots of A list players like Kewell, Elano, Baros, Misimovic, Cana and you still sucked big time. When Hagi came, Galatasaray was a disaster. You call your transfers shit because you’re a moron and you haven’t seen any of them play more than a couple of games! Culio has serious CL experience with a very small team and Stancu is better than all your strikers combined. Kenny Miller for example may have a bigger reputation, but he is not as good or as young as him.

  Hagi was the one who brought you success you didn’t even dream of a decade ago as a player and it’s not his fault Rijkaard built a weak team. He brought well known players and where did that bring you? Now you blame Hagi for not doing miracles.Have some faith. No one, not even Mourinho, can save you this season. If you were smart, you’d let him build a team for the future. But you’re not! You want instant results and that is not going to happen!

  Galatasaray is not Barcelona or Real Madrid! You will never have the best players and you would be better off developing youngsters or lesser known players like Stancu or Culio. They know it’s the chance of their lives, while Baros or Kewell don’t really give a shit. They’ve already played for bigger teams and are approaching the end of their careers. They’re only there because of the money and because they’re not needed elsewhere. They’re big names, but not big players.

  hey chup,every player on this world will play for money,keny miller for example has 2 games and 1 gol scored already,bogdan stancu has 2 games and still no goals,at the age of 23 i can’t say he is a youngster,i think this stancu will have no goals scored in the superlig.hagi has no excuse,no results, FUCK OFF.baros its not playing because hagi doesn’t want him on the pitch.

  Salve quale miglior modo di festeggiare i 150 anni dell’Unità d’Italia ripercorrendo le tappe degli ultimi anni che hanno visto un Mazziniano di nome Pietro Molinari, un genovese come Mazzini che fece l’Italia con i motti carbonari e diede alla luce la prima costituzione quella della repubblica romana. La nostra Carta costituzionale Italiana ha avuto dei grandi mentori nel passato in Eroi come Garibaldi, Mazzini e Cavour i primi che capirono che il nostro popoloaveva bisogno di una Costituzione sua. Avevano capito che l’Italia era troppo frammentata e divisa e questa era la sua debolezza. Oggi a 150 anni di distanza il nostro paese di cosa ha bisogno? Di giustizia? Di Eguaglianza? Di Lavoro? Quello che è certo e che se tutti iniziassero a osservare la nostra Costituzione Italiana le cose in Italia andrebbero meglio.

  Scorrazando in rete ho trovato dei video interessanti su di un Mazziniano che difende la Costituzione da anni, e per il fatto che desiderava che fosse osservata dai parlamentari è stato arrestato e anche internato in manicomio.
