The Galatasaray blog is back!

So my fellow CimBom’lilar whats been going on since I’ve been away? A lot, apparently. First lets see the transfers.

1. Hakan Sukur (Free Transfer to ??? (MLS?)) Hakan is now 37 years old and his contract has expired. Despite the board offering him a place on the Galatasaray board and giving him the chance for a comfortable life and lasting fame. However in his “infinite wisdom”, Hakan has decided to continue playing for another year. The question on everyones mind is, where? MLS maybe?

2. Rigobert Song (Free Transfer to Trabzonspor)- This summer has been good for Trabzon. They’ve completely rebuilt their team with players such as Gokhan Unal from Kayserispor, Giray Bulak from Oftasspor, and Rigobert Song from Galatasaray. Quite frankly I wasn’t too disappointed with Song’s departure. Song was in poor form in the second half of the season, not to mention the fact that Song is now 33 years old. However I’m sure Song will do wonders at Trabzon, despite his age. The CimBom faithful will always remember song for his 30 meter 89th minute game-winning goal in the 06 season and his lion-like celebration. All the best Song, we’ll always remember you.

3. Okan Buruk (Free transfer to Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyespor)- Another legend to have his contract end with us. Okan wasn’t getting much playing time anyway, but it will sure be sad to see another legend of the 2000 squad go. Maybe Okan will be happy ending his footballing days

4. Marcelo Carrusca (On Loan at cruz Azul)- It’s no secret that Carrusca has so much talent in him. However we can see with our own eyes that Carrusca has no problem with allowing his talent go to waste, as long as he gets his money. Maybe a change of scenery will do him well.

5. Ismael Bouzid (Free transfer to Troyes AC)- Bouzid was brought to Istanbul by departed manager Feldkamp with the billing that he had great potential in him. If Feldkamp thought that lunging into reckless tackles and giving away penalties and free kicks like candy amounted to potential, then I guess Bouzid had plenty of potential. Won’t be missed much.

1. Harry Kewell (Free transfer from Liverpool)- Don’t worry I’m going to give him a special post.

2. Ferdi Elmas (Exchange of players from C.Rizespor)- Ferdi is a product of the Ajax youth system but decided to come to Turkey early in his career instead of waiting on the sidelines in Holland. He plays on the left wing, meaning competition with Arda and Aydin. Still there’s nothing wrong with some healthy competition.

3. Yaser Yildiz (Free transfer from Kartalspor)- The 19-yr old forward Yaser is said to have great potential in him, and the statistics show this. Last year he played 32 matches from second tier side Kartalspor and scored 18 times. Not bad for a 19 yr old. Let’s hope we can turn this raw talent into something special.
