bye, bye Ali Sami Yen – 1964-2011By: Jakub | January 12th, 2011
Yesterday, the final game on Ali Sami Yen stadium was played. It was a Ziraat Türkiye Kupası game between Galatasaray SK and Beypazari Şekerspor. The final result was 3-1, after goals scored for us by: Arda Turan, Servet Cetin and Kazim-Kazim respectively. It should be noted that our new transfer, Emmanuel Culio has played extraordinally well and deserves special praise, having assisted in 2 of our goals. Moreover, Kazim-Kazim has played a very decent game and has cemented his performance scoring one goal and having one assist.
Ali Sami Yen is set to be demolished and our new stadium, Türk Telekom Arena is set to be opened on January, 15th with a game against Ajax Amsterdam. Ali Sami Yen used to be a ground for many legendary events and hosted many legendary players who graced its pitch. Let’s hope we can move on to the future with fresh mindset, determination and the right decisions regarding our club in order to turn things around.
