What a completely messed up match, four red cards, 13 yellow cards. Oh well, we crushed the scum!!!! Galatasaray 2-1 Fenerbahce
By: Musab | February 28th, 2008Whoooooooooooooooo what a game. The first match ended nil-nil at their stadium so we had to win this game. A tie just wouldn’t count it. It was Brazilbahce against Galatasaray. The great Istanbul derby. The battle of the Bosphorous. The Turkish delight. Winner take all, loser go home and cry. And of course the lions crushed their archenemies.
GALATASARAY: 2 - FENERBAHÇE: 1
Stadium: Ali Sami Yen
Referees: Cüneyt ÇAKIR, Tarık Ongun, Alpaslan Dedeş, (4th. Referee) Yunus Yıldırım
GALATASARAY: Aykut, Sabri (min. 77 Nonda), Song (min. 81 Serkan), Servet, Volkan, Barış, Mehmet Topal, Lincoln, Arda, Hakan Şükür, Ümit
Coach: Karl Heinz Feldkamp
FENERBAHÇE: Volkan Demirel, Gökhan, Lugano, Edu, Vederson, Deivid, Aurelio, Selçuk (min. 64 Semih), Uğur (min. 31 Yasin), Alex, Kezman (min.78 Önder)
Coach: Arthur Zico
Goals: Hakan Şükür (min. 4), Gökhan Gönül (min. 67), Ümit Karan (min. 90+1)
Red Cards: Lugano, Gökhan Gönül, Volkan (Fenerbahçe), Lincoln (Galatasaray)
Yellow Cards: Volkan Yaman, Ümit Karan, Arda (Galatasaray), Selçuk, Volkan Demirel, Deivid, Semih (Fenerbahçe)
The match started off with Galatasaray missing a clear chance in the 15th second. However Hakan Sukur made up for the blunder only three minutes later as Hakan sniped the ball in from the left hand side. One for CimBom. Nothing for Kerizbahce. An avalanche of Yellow-Red poured in from all sides . They just couldn’t score, but the game was thoroughly in our hands.
Then the match turned ugly. Lugano had seen a yellow card for a vicious Lugano tackle on Mehmet Topal. However after another position, he turned towards the referee and made a “glasses symbol” over his eyes. So the referee threw the dumbass Uruguayan out of the stadium.
At the end of the first half Galatasaray was leading by one. The second half started the same, Galatasaray finding chances but missing. Then as expected the scum came once with Gokhan Gonul and scored a miracle goal. 1-1. Then he himself saw a second yellow card for tricking one of the ball boys into throwing a second ball into the stadium in order to waste time. What an idiot. Keep doing that you little good-for-nothing. Tricking ball boys…how childish…..
Finally as the sweat poured down my face, as my nails were bitten to destruction, as all seemed lost, Nonda cut the ball into the penalty box where Umit Karan slammed it in home. Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So then the Fenerli goalkeeper, Volkan completely lost it and, like the wild animal he is and attacked our star Lincoln, punching him in the groin. Then he proceeded to curse his lungs out on national television. so our fans decided to curse at Volkan with a level of ferocity even I was shocked by. Good for him. Red card and three match ban. For some sick and twisted reason the idiot referee decided to give Lincoln a red card to boot.
So since Besiktas was also eliminated from the cup, only Rizespor, Genclerbirligi, Kayserispor, and Galatasaray are the only ones left in the Semifinal. Rize and Gencler are struggling to stay out of the relegation spot so most likely it’ll be Galatasaray and Kayserispor in the final.
However we go from one derby to the next. Now we have a match against Besiktas for the league. Quite simply we’ve got to win this derby as well, and at their Inonu stadium to boot.
Come on my lions, let’s tear Besiktas up as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You’ve got a few more yellows to go before you beat Portugal and the Netherlands in That Match during WC ‘06, but congratulations on beating up on Fenerbahçe anyway.
