We Lost- Fenerbahce 2-0 Galatasaray

We lost. Do I have to say any more?

Stadium: Şükrü Saracoğlu
Referees: Fırat Aydınus, Serkan Ok, Tarık Ongun

“Keriz”bahce: Volkan, Gökhan, Lugano, Edu, R.Carlos (min.90 Kazım), Deivid, Selçuk, Aurelio, Uğur (min.46 Vederson), Alex, Semih (min.72 Kezman)
Coach: Arthur Zico

GALATASARAY: Orkun, Uğur, Song, Servet, Volkan (min. 63 Ümit Karan), Sabri, Barış, Hakan Balta, Arda (min. 74 H.Şükür), Serkan, Nonda
Coach: K.H.Feldkamp

Goals: Dk.5 Semih, Dk.55 Deivid (Fenerbahçe)
Yellow Cards: Gökhan Gönül, Semih, Deivid, Edu (F.Bahçe) Song, Volkan (G.Saray)
Red Cards: Deivid (dk. 78)

They just completely outplayed us. They really should have scored a lot more than they did.

We entered the match without Lincoln, Linderoth, Hasan Sas, and Ayhan, effectively destroying our midfield. Fener on the other hand came out with a full force squad. They fanatical support they had also assisted them a lot. We got out with 7 young players. I kid you not, I saw Serkan’s legs twitching in fear. They found the goal really early in the fifth minute, destroying any morale we had in the first place. They found the second goal out of completely luck after Deivid found the ball in front of him (the same idiot who was sent off for headbutting Umit Karan).

So who do we blame? I don’t know. If we had the aforementioned players in midfield, maybe we would have beaten them. If they didn’t find the goal so early, maybe we could have gone for the tie. If we played the game at our Ali Sami Yen stadium, maybe we could have beaten them. If, If, If. Maybe, maybe, maybe.

However Herr Feldkamp made some big mistakes. Umit Karan has scored against Fenerbahce in almost every match he has played against them. Why in the hell would you bench him and play Nonda, a skilled, but extremely slow player. Whenever we went on the counterattack, Nonda slowed the whole play virtually every time.

Secondly, why would you play Sabri, someone who hasn’t played for almost 2 months, as a defensive midfielder when hes actually a right winger. Why not Mehmet Topal, a defensive midfielder whose been showing great form?

Sivasspor has also won today, making them the leaders by two points. We play them next week, at out stadium. We’ve got to win.

All in all, we’re still up by a point over the Fenerli’s. Next week they will lose against Genclerbrligi (managed by Bulent Korkmaz, the great Galatasaray legend who player 993 competitive matches for us) and once again we will be four points up. :)
