Victory!!!!!!!!!!! Galatasaray 1-0 Fenerbahce, the CimBom tears apart the canaries.
By: Musab | April 27th, 2008It was an amazing match. The house was packed with CimBomlu and Fenerli fans. People had to sit on the floor to get a decent view. And the Lions did not disappoint. Lincoln was injured at the last possible moment of the training last night and thus missed this match. We went into the match with only one foreign player, Shabani Nonda. Fener went in with eight, with their Brazilians in tow. And our youngsters tore them to shreads.
GALATASARAY: 1 - FENERBAHÇE: 0
Stadium: Ali Sami Yen
Referees: Fırat Aydınus, Bülent Gökçü, Serkan Ok / 4. Referee: Süleyman Abay
GALATASARAY: Aykut, Sabri (Dk. 90 Mehmet Guven), Servet, Emre, Hakan Balta, Barış, Mehmet Topal, Ayhan, Arda, Ümit Karan (min. 78 Song), Nonda (min. 62 Hakan Şükür)
Caretaker Manager: Cevat Güler
FENERBAHÇE: Volkan Demirel, Gökhan, Lugano (min. 43 Yasin), Edu, Uğur (min. 73 Vederson), Deivid, Aurelio, Kazım (min. 58 Semih), Maldonado, Alex, Kezman
Manager: Arthur Zico
Goal: Nonda (Dk. 37)
Yellow Cards: Ümit Karan, Mehmet Topal (Galatasaray)
As I said in my preview, as long as our youngsters play with determination, we can easily beat the Kadikoy Mafia. And as I had hoped, the youngsters played out their hearts. Arda was incredible, Mehmet was majestic, Emre was amazing. The whole team played beautifully. Fener did not have a single “serious” chance at goal. For the fifth match straight, Aykut did not see a goal get by. Thats some defense right there.
However next week we travel to Sivas, the final hurdle in our path to the championship. However with this morale, with this desire, Im sure we can defeat Sivas as well.
Something to think about; Fenerbahce have spent millions and millions of dollars on foreigners while Galatasaray rely on home grown young talent. And yet our youngsters completely outplay the Brazilians and are now poised to claim the title. If this is not the greatest club on the world, then what is????
Yes Collin, I loved the goal too.

Batuhan: Well i mean two Fenerli players probaly should have seen yellow cards, the “foul” on Hakan probably should have been a penalty, but at the end of the day, I think the referee adminstered a great game.

hey musab,me batuhan, dont you think the referee was mostly on the canaries side? the foul on hakan had to be a penalty and when hakan sukur hit yasin cakmak in the eye, i think he deserved it because he would not let go of hakan’s shirt! i did not like the referee because if galatasaray made a foul, he would give a freekick but when fener makes a foul, he says nothing is wrong.
