Those be some pretty nice goals Milan, Ankaragucu 0-3 Galatasaray
By: Musab | December 7th, 2008After Besiktas 3-1 meltodwn at home yesterday, this was (yet again) a must win for Skibbe and his lads. And they dutifully answered the call to greatness and dismantled Ankaragucu in only a couple of minutes. Pretty impressive if I do say myself. Milan Baros’ brace rose his goal tally to 10 so far. Goal King by season’s end? Looks like it. Where’s the 21 million Guiza now????
ANKARAGÜCÜ: 0 GALATASARAY: 3

After some time everything’s looking good for the CimBom. We’re in third place, four points away from the lucky leaders Trabzon, Fener’s behind us (albeit one point), and Besiktas is collpasing under Mr. Denzili, we’re on track to get past the group stages of the UEFA cup as leaders, and most importantly, the football’s getting much better. I’ll give credit where it’s due. Hats off to Skibbe.
The match saw Lincoln providing three assists, two for Milan Baros which he finished with expert precision, and laying a ball perfectly for a left footed scorcher from ‘Arry Kewell straight to the top right corner from just inside the penalty area. I dare anyone to criticize our super Brazilian now. Mwahahaha…
The defense was also pretty impressive today. Servet did not allow a single long ball to become a threat, and more importantly he did not play with the ball. He merely gave it to Meira or Hakan and went on with his football. Its obvious that Skibbe finally cracked down on his old habit. Mehmet Topal and Ayhan Akman completely bossed that central midfield with Mehmet’s long spider legs and Ayhan’s work ethic. We need this kind of commintment from every player, at every match.
Another player that really stood out was Aydin Yilmaz after he got in. I tell you, that kid is even better than Arda. He’s got great moves, great vision for passes, and the ability to give them. And perhaps the greatest difference between him and Arda is that he actually runs. He’s not lazy like Arda. I’ve always said that he needs to be given more playing time. Let’s hope that Skibbe keeps the promise he made about giving the youngsters a chance.
Something else that I want to bring up is the resignation of Ankaragucu’s manager, Unal Karaman. for those of you who don’t know, Unal was a great footballer who started out at Malatyaspor. Malatyaspor is pretty much my second team, as it’s the town where my folks are from. My dad and uncles wuold always tell me what a great player Unal was, almost single handedly lifting Malatya into the Turkish Super league and being selected to the Turkish national team when he was still playing in the second league. While the Big Three wanted him, he decided to sign on at the age of 25 for the “fouth big club” Trabzonspor where he played out the remainder of his career. So I guess I feel kinda bad for Unal as he now leaves after the chaotic situation unfolding at Ankaragucu. All the best Unal, a true legend.

i have to agree with you on aydin, i think he deserves more time, a lot more time. the thing about arda really needs to unfold, we need to know why he isn’t performing the way he usually does. it’s making me upset and more or less mad that he doesn’t care anymore. his concentration and lack of motivation are really annoying me and i think if he keeps going this way, he can kiss his dreams of being a turkish legend goodbye. ayhan on the other hand, always makes me mad. he has some good passes here and there but he always makes that one retarded mistake that just ruins his entire credibility for the entire match. skibbe needs to listen to harry kewell and let him play left winder cause i can def see that he fits there better than arda and arda needs to switch to the right. with umit karan injured i think we should play lincoln where ayhan is, and move aydin in as the supporting or second striker. hopefully we see more out of aydin in later matches.
and like you said, hats of to skibbe, or maybe even feldkamp
