Postmatch: Galatasaray 2-0 Sivasspor; Back on top (where we belong)

By: Musab | December 18th, 2007

Match was played on Friday.I know, I’m sorry.

Stadium: Ali Sami Yen
Referees: Bülent Yıldırım, Cem Satman, Erdinç Sezertam

GALATASARAY: Orkun, Uğur, Bouzid, Servet, H. Balta, Barış, Sabri, M. Topal, Arda (min.74 M.Güven), H. Şükür(min. 68 Ümit Karan), Nonda
Coach: K.H. Feldkamp

SİVASSPOR: Akın, Abdurrahman, Murat, Sedat (min.6 Diallo), Hayrettin, Musa, Devran, M. Ali, İlhan (min.76 Gurbanov), Balili (min.13 Sezer), M. Yıldız
Coach: Bülent Uygun
Yellow Cards: Hayrettin, Devran, Abdurrahman (Sivasspor) Uğur, Barış, Bouzid (G.Saray)
Goals: Nonda (min.83) Barış (min.84)

Sivasspor was a bit unlucky after losing two players to injury right at the start of the match. Too bad for them. Great for us. We quite simply dominated the match, possession at times going as far as 65% to 35%. However its becoming obvious that we just can’t score as much as we should. I mean our players are good but are unlucky. I suppose we should give some credit to the Sivasspor goalkeeper, Akin. Had a pretty good game if I do say so myself.

I personally loved Ugur Ucar. That kid’s only 19 years old and he’s already first choice right back for us. He set up our first goal after wonderfully getting by his opponent and making a hard cross for nonda. Keep it up boy. Kudos to Mehmet Topal as well.

However everyone’s talking about the whole Servet-Arda problem. During the match Arda took a pretty bad corner and Sivasspor had a chance to score through a counterattack. Although they were stopped, Servet ran up to Arda, got in his face and blasted Arda for the poor kick. Arda gave some, back talk, Servet gave his reply, and Herr Feldkamp took Arda out of the game. However when Arda wanted to sit on the bench, Feldkamp waved his finger at him and told him to go straight into the dressing room.

Now, Herr Feldkamp, would it have been so bad for you to call Arda next to you and at least tried to talk to him instead of exiling him like that? He only just turned 20 years old. Why do you have to be such a heartless asshole? Keep trying these antics and you won’t stay much longer, trust me. There is no reason why we should only be the leaders through a one point lead. We should easily be 7 points ahead of Sivasspor, forget about Fenerbahce and Sekiztas.

    Good match.

One question though… Why don’t Lincoln and Linderoth play? Are they injured or something?

Because everytime I see Nonda $crew!ng up our chances there I want to hit the TV.

both are injured, as well as ayhan and okan. Hasan sas is suspended. Basically our entire midfield has been out for weeks.

The thing with Nonda is that hes still gotta get used to Turkey. The fact that hes stronger than most of the players in the league will be enough for him to shine. soon.

I know about Okan, Ayhan and Sas. :)

Well Nonda better get used to Turkey faster because he’s wasting a lot of good actions. (if he had done a little bit better we might have not lost against Fenerbahce)

There are rumors about Jaaskelainen joining Galata in June, when his contract expires with Bolton.

Well I’ve heard that since so many teams are gonna try to get him in June, Galatasaray want to actually spend money and buy him in January.

Its not gonna happen, believe me.
