I.B.B 0-3 Galatasaray, The lions tear apart old friends as all now await the great derby.

By: Musab | April 21st, 2008

IBB stands for Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediye Spor. This can be translated into meaning Istanbul greater city municipality sport club. I guess they couldn’t give it any other name but that. In a match involving several old Galatasaray players such as Ilyas Kahraman, our on loan footballers Necati Ates and Aydin Yilmaz, and with the IBB coach Abdullah Avci part of the old Galatasaray youth system and his asisstant Arif Erdem, a Galatasaray legend, it truely was filled with old memoies.

Its also worth nothing that IBB defeated Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Trabzon twice and managed a tie with Fener, Besiktas, and Galatasaray. They never lost a match against the big teams. Abdullah Avci is also rumored to be taking control of CimBom next year.

İBB-GALATASARAY: 0-3

Stadium: Atatürk Olimpiyat
Referee: Selçuk Dereli
İSTANBUL B. BELEDİYESPOR: Hasagiç, Kerim, Marcus Vinicius, Volkan, Murat, Efe, Tjikuzu, İlhan (min. 63 Aydın), Erman, İbrahim Akın (min. 60 Sertan Eser), Necati (min. 60 Adriano)
Coach: Abdullah Avcı
GALATASARAY: Aykut, Sabri, Emre, Servet, Hakan Balta, Barış, Ayhan (min. 72 Mehmet Güven), Lincoln (min. 86 Volkan), Mehmet Topal, Arda, Ümit (min. 53 Hakan Şükür)
Coach: Cevat Güler
Goals: min. 3 Kerim Zengin (og), min. 61 Lincoln, min. 90+3 Hakan Şükür
Yellow Cards: Vinicius, Efe (İBB) - Hakan Şükür, Barış (G.Saray)

Galatasaray just went out there with such desire to win that they completely drove IBB off the pitch. In the third minute Lincoln took advantadge of a rival defenders mistake and sent the ball into the penalty box where Fenerbahces on loan defender Kerim Zengin sent it into his own net. Great job boy, your showing great potential. To screw Fener over. Let’s hope you keep scoring own goals when you return to the scum. Lincoln also managed the second goal while golden boy Arda Turan gave a masterful pass to Hakan Sukur who scored the final goal.

Without a doubt Lincoln and Arda were the men of the match. Ardas potential is frightening while Lincoln is once again showing what kind of superstar he is. We’re really gonna need them for this weekends derby against Fenerbahce.

Coming to the subject, this weekend the whole of Turkey will be hooked on to the great Istanbul derby. The great match between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. The two archenemies are on 70 points each. Therefore its a certainty that this match will determine who will be the champion. I’ll write more about the match as the Sunday approaches.

Somehow you miss out the great Prekazi out of your top 10 list.

Alex: Got a point, however I feel that the other players have had a far greater and more of a far-reaching impact.

Nevertheless, Prekazi(and Simovic)does deserve an honorable mention.
