How to slaughter, roast, and enjoy eagle, CimBom Style: Galatasaray 4-2 Besiktas
By: Musab | December 22nd, 2008I hate finals week (or in my case weeks). They cut time away from doing the things you love, such as writing on the Galatasaray Offside. May be a bit late, but its better than nothing.
GALATASARAY-BEŞİKTAŞ: 4-2
Stadium: Ali Sami Yen
Referee: Cüneyt Çakır
G.SARAY: De Sanctis, Barış, Meira, Servet, Hakan Balta, Mehmet Topal, Ayhan, Arda, Lincoln (min. 90 Mehmet Güven), Baros (min. 78 Sabri), Nonda
Manager: Michael Skibbe
BEŞİKTAŞ: Rüştü, İ.Toraman, G.Zan, Zapotocny, Seriç (min. 57 Bobo), Cisse, Ekrem (min. 75 Serdar Özkan) , Delgado, Tello, Holosko, Nobre (min. 57 Uğur)
Manager: Mustafa Denizli
Goals: Servet (min. 8), Delagdo (min. 13), Baros (min. 16-p,54, 68-p), Holosko (min. 56)
Yellow Cards: Delgado (x2), Zapotocny, Meria, Ayhan
Red Cards: Delgado (min. 50)
I don’t think anyone expected Galatasaray to lose any points against their Istanbul rivals. I have always said that Besiktas is no longer a member of the “Big Three”, and that the gap between Galatasaray and Fener and the rest of the league is growing rapidly. And true to everyones expectations, Galatasaray easily defeated a lackluster Besiktas with a 4-2 win.
The scoring started early as Servet converted after Rustu wasn’t able to hold down a strong pass from the right. While Delgado scored an equalizer, Galatasaray gained a penalty minutes later after Arda was brought down in the penalty box after masterfully controlling the ball between two defenders. The kids got talent, no doubt. Baros laid Rustu to the right and scored to his left, 2-1.
In the second half it was more frantic do-nothing football from Besiktas and more “lets just sit back and enjoy the horror show before us” footy from the CimBom. In the 50th min. Delgado saw a red card, effectively ending any chance for a Besiktas come-back. Galatasaray found a third goal after a pinpoint pass from Lincoln unleashed Milan Baros who scored his secong goal of the night. While Besiktas were able to claw back after Holosko’s powerful 121 km/hr shot, Galatasaray gained a second penalty which Milan Baros scored for his hat-trick. After 15 matches in the Super League, Milan has 14 goals and 5 assists. With 19 matches left to go, I’m sure he’ll get more than 20 goals, maybe even 25, and maybeee with a couple of hat-tricks against the likes of bottom dwellers Antalya and Kocaeli who could reach 30 goals. Let this be a lesson to all you foreigners that Galatasaray’s interested in. This clubs where its at. Look at Guiza, 17 matches and only 4 goals. Baros cost us 7 million, Guiza cost them 21 million.
Overall, Galatasaray played a very methodical and careful game. While it wasn’t the free flowing attacking footy we’ve seen the past couple of weeks, there was no doubt that Galatasaray were in control of this game. Besitkas on the other hand looked tired, confused, and out of hope throughout the match. I wonder if Mustafa Denizli can feel the fires under his toes. Credit’s also due to Arda who played out his little CimBomlu heart out there on the pitch helping out on defense as well as being deadly ahead.
A great way to enter the break and a great Birthday gift from the CimBom to me.

tek buyuk
like skibbe said, the only thing we can wish for in the new year is less injuries. sivas is next, were going to first if the league likes it or not, and become champions, and have a hell of a run at the UEFA Cup and if we win it, oh lord, fener will have no chance in catching us on the most successful turkish team in history award.

Its not up to you or anyone else to say that Besiktas is not one of the BIG THREE!! to be a big team comes from history, fans, success! we have all of them! if u accept or not Besiktas is one of the biggest team in Turkiye!
Servet’s firt goal was the same with Everton’s Pienaar’s goal against Chelsea which was disallowed by ref! but our ref said play on! When the score was 2-1 Delgado’s sent of was totally rubbish that ruined our game! Watch the game objectively first and then write an article you tendentious cimbom fan…

Emre: Your accusing me of bias huh?
Servet’s goal is a proper goal, why don’t you get angry at your keeper instead of the ref?
Delgado should have never made that signal, no excuses. He knew that he was already booked, so he needed to be careful anyway. secondly, the rulebook states that that action is ALWAYS a yellow card, thats not the refs fault thats the rulebooks. Let’s imagine that the ref didnt show the yellow card and Delgado went on and scored a goal, then what would the fans think. What would the media say? Think things thoroughly before you jump to conclusions.
Do you really blieve that Delgados sending off really ruined the game? Do you really believe that Besiktas was going to go on and even score? Of course not, they were terrible the entire 90 min.
A team that only has one championship in the past 12 years is not a big team. A team that spend millions of dollars on empty players is not a big team. A team that goes through 5 managers in one adminstration is not a big team. I don’t say this with any kind of pride, but Besiktas is no longer a big team.
Now we see Fenerbahce and Galatasaray filling their coffers, possessing huge stadiums, having an international reputation as a “good team”. My point is that the gap between those two teams and the rest of the league is quickly opening. So while the Besiktas board argue over an empty red card and blame everything on the referees, everything around them is changing.

And for your information I can write anything I want all right? If i want I can curse Besiktas, Fener, and any other team that I want and you can’t do anything bout it.

Emre – Rustu even said that it was a clean goal, how could u even dare say that was a foul.
Mustafa Denizli(btw this is YOUR manager) said that Delgado’s action should have been rewarded a yellow card and it was the right move, i honestly have never seen a player do that gesture and not get a yellow card so if you think that was unjust, watch some more footy.
and even if delgado wouldn’t have been sent off we would have won, skibbe would have subbed aydin in for nonda and we would have scored more goals.

Nobre’s goal at the early days of the season against Buyuksehir and Pienar’s goal against to Chelsea(4 days ago)were the same with Servet’s goal. Both of them disallowed. Lugano made the same action of Delgado but he didnt get any card. I hate the double standarts between Fenerbahce-Galatasaray and Besiktas. If its not faul it must not be faul for any team! if its yellow card it must be yellow card for every team! Can you say refs are fair with Besiktas? of course you gonna say yes because you show your colour! you havent lost anything with ref in your hole life, never know ha?!
Of course you can write anything you want, i said that for instance! you have the column go on…
Despite Liverpool can’t win the PL for 18 years they are one of the biggest team in England. Altough they won the CL some people like you, insist that they are not a big team anymore but nothing is gonna change that Liverpool is a big team, same as Besiktas! 5 years ago we won our last title so what? in last 22 years we won 7 titles, thats one more than Fenerbahçe, in last 27 years Fenebahçe and Besiktas have equal titles!
I dont care about the titles! we are big club! although we are in the middle of a bad period we are big! and always gonna be.

By the way we are about the finish the permissions of renewing the Inonu Stadium which will reach the capacity of 40.000 with a hotel and restaurants in it. Our Fulya project is nearly finish! which will bring us 20 million a year. Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have more debts than us! but in the media they show it like we have more. I know you all want to see in Turkiye two teams compition but sorry you have no chance. After these projects and Demioren gone, your dreams gonna finish…

added to the arguement: what have you guys accomplished in the past 10 years? let me recap
Super Lig : ONE title..
Turkish Cup : three titles(not bad)
Super Cup: One
UEFA/UCL : Zero titles(expected), broke the record for biggest loss in Champions League.i really don’t know what you want me to say, you have won one league title in the past TEN years… Sergen and Nihat are basically the only world notable players that you guys have had play for you. Id count Rustu but you were his backup plan
now lets compare that to who you are comparing ur team to(Liverpool)
League : Zero titles
FA Cup : Two(you can’t even compare this title to the Turkish Cup)
League Cup : Two
Community Sheild(Super Cup): One
UCL : One
UEFA Cup : One
UEFA Super Cup : Twonow I don’t understand how you can even compare the most successful team in english football history to a team like… eziktas
Lets also look at Galatasaray
League : Five titles in ten years
Turkish Cup : Three
Super Cup : One
UEFA : One, and only turkish team to win a european cup
UEFA Super Cup : OneGalatasaray is the most successful turkish club of all time and it will always stay like this, you think your 20mil a year will actually make ur club good? do you honestly think that after GS finish Aslantepe that any turkish club has a chance of catching up on them financially? you’re pathetic to be honest
Over the past ten years we’ve had LEGENDS play for us.
get used to it, your club will NEVER catch up to galatasaray, EVERR

ok i see your discussion style, its pee race. I dont have time for that. A big team fan shouldnt call his rival’s name eziktas, 6saray, ezikbahce etc but its your quality you can do it and this is the end of this discussion of course. I only said turkiye has a modern football for 25 years sthng like that and in that period we are equal to Fenerbahce which is said to be the far better club than as and of course Galatasaray is better than both if you take the success for being a big club. I have respect for my both rivals and i write their name properly, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. But i can see that you are not that mature. I dont have anything to say by this time, u can all write eziktas, you are not big etc… this is your style go on…

Nobody is here to insult anyone, just to speak football. I wouldn’t use insulting names for my rivals but I can’t stop anyone else from doing so, although I can discourage it because its unnecessary. Therefore I ask that we have a bit more courtesy when we’re talknig to other people who wish to make their views known.
What I’m trying to say is that the gap between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray and the rest of the league (including Besiktas), is rapidly widening. While it’s true that GS and FB have larger debts, they are able to pay off their debts much more easily than Besiktas, and let’s not forget the fact that GS and FB are in debt because they SPEND in order to SUCCEED. Besiktas also has a significant debt (albeit less than the others), they are not as succesful as the other two teams.

Success is not a degree of how gorgeous your team is,or how respected your team.Utku, your words are lame.A team can win titles, reach success in international area, but that does not represent the whole thing. You’re missing important points.Let me give you a few example.Lets take,Tottenham or Valencia,as our models. They are not succesful like Barcelona or Manchester Utd,but they are respected, they have an important part of supporters in their countries.Lazio,is alike us,and them. All those teams are big, despite their lack of success in recent years.
Lyon was nothing before Paul LeGuen. Not any titles. Now everybody, who have nothing to do with football except commenting on scores and successes, think that Lyon is a big team. This is stupidity.
My first advice to you, before reaching idiot results as a reflection of your lack knowledge of football history, try being objective.Besiktas is the first sports organisation in this country, and 3rd most winner of the leauge.
Do not underestimate your opponents, seasons passes, titles goes by,footballers comes and leaves, but Besiktas will be and always,so watch your words.Time for us to speak will come, and what will you do by then?Hide somewhere because you’ve lost a game against your rivals?
Yes,that sounds like you,so keep going.

Valencia and Tottenham are respected but are no where near the threat that Barca or Man u are. if you can even think that you can compare those teams to each other you are mad. Besiktas is the first sports organization int he country? who cares, Galatasaray was the first football club and i never use that in an argument cause it’s stupid, of course you are going to use it because you try to focus the attention on something other than success, which no one gives a crap about. we can sit here and compare team by team on useless crap but when it comes down to it, the only teams in turkish football that will ever accomplish anything will be galatasaray and fenerbahce. even if sivasspor wins the league this year they will never be considered a threat in europe, and barely any body outside of turkey will know their existence. besiktas and it’s supporters like to brag about their rich history and the famous supporters they had and how they are so much better than everyone, because that’s the only thing that they can talk about. they can’t talk about being the most successful team in turkey, they can’t talk about all the legends that they have produced, they can’t talk about their european success, because they don’t have the qualifications that gala or fener have. and you are like them because you are afraid to talk about success, you try to focus on other things, things that mean absolutely nothing and don’t matter what so ever.
you can say what ever you want. besiktas will never catch up to gala or fener.
