Genclerbirligi 0-1 Galatasaray, Rejoice CimBom, the dragon has been slain!!!!!!!

By: Musab | April 7th, 2008

So there I was hanging out with my friend on a fine New York Saturday morning when I recieved a phone call on my cell phone. I opened and I was given the great news. Feldkamp, the old coot, has been sent packing by the Galatasaray board after every last one of the players stated that the poor results are a direct result of Feldkamp. I could have hardly beleived it. I jumped for joy and felt that I could kiss everyone around me. (They stopped me before it got out of hand.)

So when the team took to field on Sunday they played their hearts out. It was obvious that then team’s morale had shot up through the roof.

G.BİRLİĞİ:0 G.SARAY:1

GALATASARAY: Aykut, Sabri (min.62 Barış), Emre, Servet, Volkan, Okan Buruk (min.70 Hasan Şaş), Mehmet Topal, Lincoln, Arda, Ümit, Nonda (min.78 Hakan Şükür)

Yellow Cards: Mehmet Nas, Engin Baytar, Traore (G.Birliği) Lincoln, Servet, Ümit Karan (G.Saray)
Goal: Lincoln (min.88)

With the squad hastily prepared on the day of the match, Galatasaray knew that any more lost points would pretty much end Galatasaray’s hopes for the title. The players went out there and tried their best as the pitch was in unbelievably poor state. The ground was more of a “potato farm” then a legitimate UEFA standard pitch. Therefore one could not possibly expect good football from the team. Despite that the lads tried their best and got a couple of really good chances. However once again our forwards completely let us down as they were completely unable to produce a positive chance for us with our midfield players taking the bulk of the chances.

With less than 20 minutes left, Hasan Sas finally entered the game and immediatly Galatasaray began to pick up the pace. Finally after a good cross into the box by Hasan Sas, Umit Karan headed the ball down perfectly for Lincoln who found the back of the net with an excellent, well placed shot.

However without a doubt something even more important then the three points was the end of the brutal totalitarian regime of Karl-Heinz Feldkamp who is responsible for our being two points behind Fenerbahce going into the final five weeks. As Fenerbahce once again bribed a referee into giving them the match against Kayserispor (a penalty and an offside goal given to Ezikbahce while a Fenerli player wasn’t given a red card for a vicious tackle. I hope Fener burns in their own hell.)

Nonono. Fener can dump Chelsea out of the Champions league and *then* go burn in hell, thank you.
