Galatasaray 1-0 Trabzonspor, The Tide is finally turning in our favor as the Cimbom win the derby

By: Musab | April 13th, 2008

The third derby for Galatasaray was played out in a packed Ali Sami Yen stadium filled with fanatical Galatasarayli fans. Trabzonpor has always been a “secondary” derby for us, seconday because we almost always beat them whether the match is in Istanbul or at Trabzon. However the gameplay of CimBom was great. Its just more proof that Feldkamp was the reason for Galatasaray’s miseries.

G.SARAY:1 TRABZONSPOR:0

Stadium:Ali Sami Yen
Referee: Yunus Yıldırım
GALATASARAY: Aykut, Sabri, Emre, Servet, Volkan, Ayhan, Okan (min.65 Barış), Mehmet Topal, Arda (min.84 Hakan Balta), Ümit (min.79 Nonda), Hakan Şükür
TRABZONSPOR: Tolga Zengin, Ferhat, Tayfun, Çağdaş, Mustafa Keçeli, Hüseyin, Ayman, Hasan(min. 76 Ergin), Barış (min.46 Adnan), Yattara, Umut
Yellow Cards: Tayfun Cora, Yattara, Çağdaş (Trabzonspor)
Goal: Arda (min.50)

Galatasaray just completely crushed Trabzon the first half. In 34 minutes we had 8 different goal chances. And yet we come back to Galatasaray’s big letdown, the lack of goals. Umit, Nonda, and Hakan just cant seem to score anymore. Servet hit the post once while the keeper Tolga made some miracle saves as well. In the second half we picked up the pace once again and finally golden boy Arda found the net in the 50th minute with a slightly deflected shot.

After that it was smooth sailing for Galatasaray. We raised the Tempo or slowed it down as we wanted to. We completely owned the match. We completely owned Trabzonspor. Maybe if we keep playing like this we’ll get the trophy that we so deserve this year.

It’s obvious that Feldkamps departure has repaired team morale with the players playing a lot better and with a lot more desire. Thank god the bastards gone.

After Fenerbahce conceded a late goal away at Ankaraspor (Eat that you Fenerli’s) , we’re now tied at 67 points. Seems that this is gonna go all the way to the final match at the Ali Sami Yen. If the current situation continues till then, we got no choice but to win. However Galatasaray has been doing great the last two matches while Fener has been going south. Besiktas also lost on Friday so they’re 99% out of the race.

A last word: A great get well soon to our young starlet Serkan Calik who went in for surgery on Friday, get better soon.
