With only 6 matches left in the season, it’s time to add up our chances to actually win something this year. It isn’t ideal, but the CimBom still has a chance to win the title. Here’s the league table:

Sivasspor 57
Besiktas 56
Trabzonspor 53
Galatasaray 51
Fenerbahce 48
Bursaspor 45

Needless to say it’s gonna take a mighty strong push by our boys to pull this off. But it’s not impossible. Let’s take a look at our remaining matches:

Ankaraspor (H)
Hacettepe (A)
Ankaragucu (H)
Genclerbirligi (H)
Besiktas (A)
Sivasspor (H)

Wihout a doubt we have the easiest schedule of matches of all our rivals. We only leave Istanbul once in order to play against relegated Hacettepe. What makes our schedule so good is that thigns are in our own hands. If we can defeat Besiktas and Sivasspor we can definitly be looking at an 18th title. If not that we can at least try to come in second place for a champions league berth, something we sorely need.

This weekend will see Sivas host Trabzonspor, both teams being ahead of us. In a weeks time Fener will take a trip to Besiktas, a game they might win. Our opponents have difficult games ahead of them and we need to win our matches in order to capatalize on any chances.

I know that the past is in the past, but if we had gained those extra 4 points against Trabzon and Fener, we would only be 2 points adrift of Sivas in second place. I always said that the late 2-2 draw against Trabzon would carry severe consequences for us.

So what do you guys think? Does the CimBom have a chance of winning the title? What about second place? Leave your thoughts and comments.

Well I guess what we’ve all suspected has come to be true. Adnan Polat is a master of divination and is able to predict things simply from Turkish car plates. I knew all those numbers had to mean something.

For those of you that don’t know, the last two numbers of every Turkish licence plate corresponds to the city where the car was registered. Some examples:

Istanbul-34
Malatya-44
Trabzon-61
Ankara-06
Erzurum-25
Denizli-20
Manisa-45

Hmm do those last two numbers seem familiar? Why of course! 20 and 45. What is Musab talking about now you ask?

Well in the 05/06 season, then second-in-charge Adnan Polat made a legendary statement just before the final match of the season stating that “At 20:45, we will be champions”, despite Fener being ahead by a point. Well in the final match, Fener went to struggling Denizlispor, and couldn’t defeat them, thus allowing us to be champs with two clear points ahead of them. Today 20:45 doesnt mean 8:45 to the Cimbom, but the time when we’re champions. Instant legend status for Adnan Polat.

Today Adnan Polat decided to explain why he was so confident that we would be champions. You see Adnan Polat comes from the humble city of Erzurum. The licence plate number of Erzurum is 25.

In the 05/06 season Fener suffered a devestating defeat at Manisaspor where they conceded 5 goals. Many football writers would point to that match as the match that shattered Fener’s hopes for the title. The licence plate number of Manisa is 45.

And as stated before, Fener lost the title after a 1-1 draw at Denizlispor. The licence plate number of Denizli is 20

So when you bring the Manisa and Denizli licence number together you get: 20:45

Amazing huh??? And one final twist:

45-20=25

25 being the number of Adnan Polat’s home town, Erzurum. Ooooooh!!!! Aaaaaah!!!!!

Frightening huh? Maybe this is how Domenech arranges his matches as well?
