The road to the great Istanbul Derby- Galatasaray prepares to take on Fenerbahce
By: Musab | December 5th, 2007Yes my friends the time has finally arrived. The great “Turkish delight” Derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce will take place this Saturday. Galatasaray stand one point ahead of Fenerbahce but everything can change. A win for Galatasaray will take them up seven points clear.
From a tactical viewpoint, Galatasaray loves to lay siege to the opponents goal and start taking shots at will. Fenerbahce on the other hand is a counter attack team. It’ll be pretty interesting to see what will happen this Saturday. Feldamp has told his boys to not be afraid of the fanatical Fenerbahce fans and to block out curses they may hear. He has also given them a 30 minutes training exercise to practice ducking from the cell phone batteries and water bottles that will be thrown at them from the stands.
Galatasaray are suffering from several injuries including star players Lincoln, Linderoth, and Ayhan. Hasan Sas is also out due to a red card suspenison. Fenerbahce on the other hand have no injuries and are expected to field a full strength team. Good. Otherwise it would just be a compelete walkover for us.
