The night before election day- Galatasaray goes to the polls tomorrow
By: Musab | March 21st, 2008Tomorrow on Saturday March the 22nd, the Galatasaray S.K members will head to the polls to elect a new club president.
At this point in time there are only two candidates, Adnan Polat and Nazim Durak, who will vie to take over from outgoing president Ozhan Canaydin. Without a doubt Ozhan Canaydin will continue to be hated and cursed at by the Galatasaray fan seeing as to how he is directly responsible for the collapse of the old Galatasaray and put the club in over 200 million dollars in debt over his horrendous six years in reign. To him I have a message. So long Canaydin, may your remaining years be filled with misery and heartbreak for what you have done to this club.
Adnan Polat will most likely win the election seeing as to how he has the backing of most of the 5000 members as well as the blessing of outgoing president Ozhan Canaydin. He has pledged millions of dollars to the club and has prepared plans for what to do with the Seyrantepe stadium project and the funds that it will produce. His choice of people for the new board of directors is filled with bright, loyal, and most importantly, rich Galatasaray S.K members.
On the other hand we have Nazim Durak who represents the splinter faction which has emerged against Polat. His choice of directors is filled with complete unknowns as well as a past directors wife. What a loser. No real chance of winning.
However Adnan Polat has disappointed many Galatasaray supporters for not bringing Abdurrahman Albayrak to the new board. Albayrak is loved by the Galatasaray supporters and had been expected to be brought in. Maybe Adnan Polat knows something we don’t know.
Here’s Adnan Polat’s list:
Faruk Bil
Mehmet Helvacı
Işın Çelebi
Sinan Kılıç
Haldun Üstünel
Yiğit Şardan
Ali Haşhaş
Mümtaz Tahincioğlu
Murat Yalçındağ
Kemal Özgörkey
Ahmet Dedehayır
Metin Karakaya
Nejat Uygun
Tunca Hazinedaroğlu
Adil Emecan
