News from the Field- Feldkamp presses the button, Turkey beats Norway
By: Musab | November 19th, 2007Herr Feldkamp had a quasi-press conference today and laid out his plan. He plans to buy a central defender in the winter window. I think this could be a smart choice seeing as to how Rigobert Song will have to travel to play with the Cameroons nationla team in the 2008 African cup of nations (good luck to Cameroon. Im behind you guys). In addition, Turkish football newspaper Fanatik claims that Song has agreed to return to his old club Metz at the end of the season after his contract expires. Of course Fanatik can never be trusted but there’s always a slimmer of truth in every blatant lie.
In addition, Feldkamp never mentioned a goalkeeper or a right back, something he mentioned that he wanted before. Maybe he trusts Ugur and Orkun, or maybe we just don’t have the money for three transfers and we’ve got to make do with what we got.
On the other hand, when asked about Necati Ates and Emre Asik (Who he did’nt want in the team, and so they are on loan at Ankaraspor), Feldkamp had stated that “Our doors our always open to our players” and “We’re going to look over all our options in May.” A far cry from the “I never wanna see them again” attitude he had before.
And finally congrats to the Turkish national team for their 1-2 win over Norway. Emre once again saved the team with one of his classic left footed shots. Now we’ve just gotta beat the Bosnians at the Ali Sami Yen stadium to get out tickets stamped to the Euros in Austria/Switzerland. My prediction, a quiet 2-0 win to the Turks.
