Celebrating Children’s Day, CimBom style

By: Musab | Comments 1 Comment

Children’s Day is a pretty big holiday in Turkey with the little ones being given gifts and having special celebrations for them. In addition, the President, Prime Minister, cabinet members and other goverment officials all turn their offices over to the kids for the day and they enact laws relating to children, education, and the [...]

Harry Kewell: Reborn at Galatasaray

By: Musab | Comments 5 Comments

Our squad is full of some very classy foreigners such as Baros, Lincoln, and Nonda, but even though he just arrived this year, Harry Kewell has already won the hearts of the CimBom faithful. Harry brought that extra bit of technique and finesse that this squad sorely needed, as shown with his 6 goals and [...]

How much bribe money is it going to take?

By: Musab | Comments 2 Comments

With only 6 matches left in the season, it’s time to add up our chances to actually win something this year. It isn’t ideal, but the CimBom still has a chance to win the title. Here’s the league table:
Sivasspor 57
Besiktas 56
Trabzonspor 53
Galatasaray 51
Fenerbahce 48
Bursaspor 45
Needless to say it’s gonna take a mighty strong push [...]

When derby’s go bad- Galatasaray 0-0 Fenerbahce

By: Musab | Comments 1 Comment

In essence I guess that this match was exactly what both teams deserve. One is 4th place while the other is in 5th place. Both teams have dangerously unbalanced squads which (barring some of the Turkish youngsters) show no desire to win trophies at all. The match was brutal and mind numbing.
Overall Galatasaray dominated the [...]

The Battle of the Bosphorous 101, Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce

By: Musab | Comments 10 Comments

It’s that time of the year again, where we sit down in our yellow-red shirts and allow 90 minutes of our lives to pass away in what feels like 5 minutes. When the fixture for the new season is drawn, everyone first looks for this game. The Galatasaray-Fenerbahce derby is without a doubt one of [...]

Antep? I’d prefer Fener- Gaziantepspor 0:1 Galatasaray

By: Musab | Comments No Comments

I had the pleasure of visiting Antep this summer and it was definitly a positive experience. The largest and most modern of Turkey’s Eastern cities, Antep had everything from cars blaring Turkish and Kurdish folksongs to those fantastic pistachios (I smuggled roughly three bags back home). For a good four years the CimBom hasn’t been [...]
